Hi, Thanks for visiting 🙂 Here’s a little bit about our Coaching Team.

About Maggie
I am a strength coach with special knowledge in training in the areas of pre and postnatal fitness, kettlebell coaching, and strength training for older adults.
My favourite ways to move & exercise include kettlebell training, running, walking, and cycling.
I got into fitness training in 2017 when I started getting back to exercise after having my second baby. I realised there was a huge lack trustworthy information for new mothers like me.
Gaining specialist knowledge in the areas of pre and postnatal fitness, I’ve taken multiple courses, and love keeping up to date with continuing education. The area of pre and postnatal fitness, the pelvic floor and female athleticism is evolving as research grows.
I decided to leave my nursing career behind, and started doing group training classes as well as postnatal classes. Then, the pandemic hit and I decided to go back to nursing for a bit. But as life returned slowly to normal, I went back to fitness coaching, and in November 2022, opened up Simple Strength Leixlip.
Other Interests
I am proud to be a run leader with She Summits Trail Running, Ireland’s only trail running company exclusively for women, and a founding members of Trail Criú, a trail running club that aims to build community with people seeking international protection in Ireland. I have been a part of the Irish Mountain Challenges team since it began in 2021. Being a volunteer Community First Responder with the National Ambulance Service is another role I enjoy, and I am a founding member of Maynooth CFR.
I was in my 30’s before I started running and going to the gym. Throughout my 20’s I believed that exercise just wasn’t something that I could stick to. I thought ‘fit’ people were super dedicated and elite.
I think that’s why I love working with beginners and people starting their fitness journey. Helping people to get stronger, build confidence and feeling comfortable lifting weights, is so rewarding.
For some people, it’s their first time really enjoying exercise. I’m here to help you have a positive experience in the gym, so that you can build a sustainable habit and work towards your long term health and fitness goals.

…Since starting at Simple Strength, I’ve been consistently training for 7 months and have had fun while doing so. I’ve noticed an increase in my confidence, strength and an improvement in my mental wellbeing…

As a parent of two, and a business owner, I understand why people struggle to find the time to exercise. Life is busy, and I reject the notion that “we all have the same 24 hours in the day”. Honestly, we don’t…the juggle is real for many of us.
I get it! Sometimes the mental (and physical) energy is lacking. I also know how much strength training can support you in your busy life, so I encourage you (gently) to take some time out from your everyday life for yourself.
Your valuable time shouldn’t be spent feeling dreadful in the gym. Changing your comfort zone can absolutely be done in a supportive way
About Coach Rebecca
I’m Rebecca, a yoga instructor living in North Kildare with my husband and our three kids. I went to my first yoga class at 17 with my mam who figured it might help a stressed-out teenage me a little! I don’t remember a lot about the class but something about the practice intrigued me because over the following years, on and off, I kept returning to the mat.
I am continually amazed at how empowering practicing yoga both on and off the mat has been for me and I’m so excited to share this feeling with my students. My classes are warm and welcoming. My goal as a teacher is to help you leave the class feeling a little better than when you came in. I am simply the guide who will help you tune into your own body and teach you how to honour where you’re at, on any given day. Even 1 hour a week is enough to feel the benefits of this ancient system of self-care.
My background is in biomedical science and I am fascinated by the human body and mind in all its complexities. I am especially passionate about yoga as a tool for promoting mental health and wellbeing. Alongside my Hatha Yoga teacher training under Bev Porrino at the Elbowroom, Dublin, I have also recently completed Jessie Mundell’s Postnatal Fitness Specialist Certification. I am currently taking Lauren Anderson’s Mama Love Pre and Postnatal Yoga teacher training and I am so excited to eventually begin teaching prenatal and postnatal yoga classes.
