Return to Exercise Postpartum Workshop
Join Postnatal Fitness Specialist Maggie Lawler and Pelvic Health Physiotherapist Leah Bryans at the Return to Exercise Postpartum Workshop this July 27th at 10am. We will discuss a range of topics including a return to running postpartum plan and a gentle strength workout.
Certified postnatal fitness trainer Maggie Lawler and guest expert Leah Bryans Physiotherapist have been helping postpartum people since 2017 and 2007. Their combined knowledge will help you avoid common mistakes as they take you through from birth to 12 months postpartum.
Along the way, Maggie and Leah have seen fitness trends change from the very conservative, to the wildly uniformed. During this workshop you will learn what you need to know, without fearmongering, fitness jargon or diet industry B.S.
Why Postpartum Fitness Matters
Postnatal Fitness doesn’t need to be complicated, but it does require a considered approach. Having the right guidance and support during this unique time has long term benefits, and can help avoid unnecessary injury.
Common postnatal concerns include:
- Pelvic floor function and healing.
- Sleep deprivation.
- Major lifestyle shifts and physical demands of early parenthood.
- C-Section recovery and the management of perineal stitches.
- Hormonal, mental, and emotional effects of pregnancy and birth.
Contrary to popular belief, postpartum recovery isn’t a 6-week journey. The recovery timeframe is unique to each individual and is more likely to span months and years rather than weeks.
